There still are, in Bucium, the memorial houses of the folklorist Ion Pop Reteganu and of the writers Emanuel de Martonne and Ion Agârbiceanu . Other characters with great influence upon the lives of the people in Bucium were Horea, Closca and Crisan, Avram Iancu and Ecaterina Varga . There also was here a branch of the "Astra" society, as well as a bank.
The folk costumes are worn today only on special occasions. In the local's houses, remarcable gold jewerly, designed after the Tirol pattern, costumes sown in golden and silver thread, carpets, wiping cloths and various linen can be admired.
